Nokia 4.2 Review

Nokia 4.2 Review

Nokia reenters the industry two years back with the Android OS phones and its product was welcomed in an outstanding way by the users as well as the market. But Still those smartphones were bit overpriced. So, just after few months Nokia started unstoppably launching new phones concerned on majority demand of budget-friendly phones.

After Nokia 7.1 and 8.1, it has launched the Nokia 4.2 which is lighter on pockets than those two and comes with Android one OS. This premium built smartphone with an amazing camera can become a trendsetter in its price range. Nokia 4.2’s battery along with build is in the talk from launching. It has a beautifully placed notification LED and sharp design.

Many users are showing dissatisfaction with the performance and thus creates a question that Is this new beautifully priced smartphone with Android One can compete with the same ranged competitors as MI or Oppo, or it is a Nokia’s experiment which needs more improvements? Let’s find this out in our full review of Nokia 4.2.

Design and Build Quality

You can’t guess its price by its first look. The premium body, stylish finish changes the “budget” experience. It has a glass back, with the metal body on polycarbonate which wholly gives a steady and rigid feel. And have rounded edged design. It weighs around 161g which is a bit extra than Honor or MI phones. The 5.7-inch display looks decent with fewer bezels. You can easily get electronic appliances online using Rentickle coupon at discounted prices.

The buttons and port are perfectly arranged as power and volume controller on the right, 3.5mm jack at the top, micro USB port, dual speakers and microphone are at the bottom and an extra button for Google Assistant on the left. The microSD along with Dual nano sim card slot in also on the left.

The Rear side is beautifully arranged with camera and flash aligned vertically in the center and roundly fingerprint sensor is placed just below it. You have the Nokia text logo vertically aligned below fingerprint sensor and an android one horizontal logo in the bottom.

There is 5.71inches 720 x 1520 HD+ TFT LCD selfie notch display with PPI of 270. The fewer bezels increase the width giving a perfectly saturated image and interface. The waterdrop notch along with display gives the aspect ratio of 19:9. Nokia 4.2 has beautifully arranged notification light which surrounds the power button, so the button glows every time you get notifications.

Performance and Features

Nokia 4.2 performance is not competitive with the latest same price ranged phones. It runs on Snapdragon 439 processor with 3GB RAM, which is enough for normal use but doesn’t support you for extreme use or high-quality gaming. The fingerprint works fast and smoothly.

Thanks for the Android one which helps the phone to become a bit optimized, as generally, it takes a few seconds to operate new things when you open a lot of apps. You must make yourself habitual of its “few second delay” habit in maximum tasks. You have Bluetooth 4.2 for sharing and NFC option so the payment can be done easily with Google Pay.

As mentioned, its functions are a bit delayed, so the same issue is with the camera. It has a dual rear camera with 13mp primary and 2mp depth-sensing. See you need to be calm while taking photos, as the phone takes time to capture clear shots. The quality of photos is good and perfectly color balanced. The portraits from the 8mp front camera look pure. Nokia 4.2 does take blurry images in low-light conditions.

Talking about the display, it is premium. The pixels are clear and bright, and the display satisfies even in the dark. The small speakers are not much loud, enough for a silent environment but flop in the busy or big surrounding.

The Battery life

Who is telling that Nokia 4.2 is a battery master? It disappoints you in this case. The 3000mAh battery is not enough for heavy users. It can hardly survive for half-day if roughly used and a bit more if only used for calls, browsing, and music. Nokia should provide Type-C port and fast charging instead of micro USB port when they thought of giving 3000mAh.

Price and Availability

It has plus point in price. Nokia 4.2 comes in single specification variant of 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM which is available for $189. It does come in 2 different colors, Black and the trendiest Pink Sand. You can purchase it from the official website and from Amazon to get more discount offers. You can also apply for Software Application Developer jobs to know about this field.

No doubt Nokia 4.2 is a sharp-looking premium build a smartphone that comes under a beautiful price. It does have a decent camera and general battery life. The main issue with Nokia 4.2 is of performance, gamers will find difficulties in getting a smooth experience. There are alternatives like Moto G7 play or the new Redmi 7S with higher RAM, camera and features in just $20 more. They also provide gaming boost mode, especially designed software for perfect gaming. Still, if you have trust with the Nokia brand name and wants a phone, not for gaming or rough purpose you have trust with the Nokia brand name and wants a phone, not for gaming or rough purpose but a decent phone for general use you can go with the Nokia 4.2.
